FONTS
MAKE THE GOLDSTAMP FONT CONNECTION
It's never been easier to coordinate fonts for your scrapbook pages with your Goldstamp embossed cover titles. Check out the Goldstamp Font Connection for links to matching fonts.

FONT CHOICES FOR ALBUM PERSONALIZATION
When you're ready to emboss your album cover, your font choice will likely be determined by the theme, style or "feel" of your album. Whether you want a formal or more casual feel, Goldstamp offers a variety of font choices to help make your album cover personalization fit your scrapbook's contents.

For scrapbook embossing, some scrapbookers choose to use different fonts for different albums while others prefer the same font choice for all covers. This page will help you find the selection that best fits your needs.

Goldstamping... It's all about making it everything you want it to be!

FONT SIZES
Goldstamp's proprietary personalization system uses computer-generated, variable size fonts that are proportionally sized for your album cover's title.

Unlike the small font choices offered by "Brand X" competitors (typically 18, 24, or 36 pt.), Goldstamp's text size is not limited. Instead of old-fashioned, hand-set type, we use computer-generated text appropriate for your cover's presentation area. Yes, this costs us more but results in much higher quality personalization for your album. Goldstamp's text titles can range up to 200 points or larger as appropriate for your album cover.

Also, Goldstamp's exclusive Reorder Matching System ensures that your future orders using the same titles will match exactly for size and style. No need to worry about mismatched fonts or sizes and your custom titles never go out of style and are never "retired"!

Fonts by imprint position. Scrapbook embossing, photo album embossing, album cover embossingFONTS BY IMPRINT POSITION
The image at right shows the available imprinting positions for standard size 12x12 covers. The example shows the three covers found in a Strap-hinge or Postbound cover set with removable ("tuck-in" or "slip-in") spine cover.

Exceptions include covers with "windows" and smaller covers (e.g. 7x7) on which the area below the window or bottom center is used. Lower Center position is recommended for covers with window cutouts (instead of Lower Right). If you need assistance, a customer service agent will happily consult with you to arrive at the best look for your album cover.

A combination of Upper and Lower Case letters can be used in all imprint positions except lower spine which is UPPER CASE only for uniformity and readability. When in doubt, use Title Case, where the first letter of each significant word is capitalized, e.g. "25 Years of Service". Please note that text as part of a graphic design is available only as pictured, e.g.,
"Childhood Memories" in Kidprint with picture of kids and balloons.
Scrapbook embossing for removable strap-hinge or postbound scrapbook spines.LOWER SPINE WORDING
Use Lower Spine personalization to further differentiate your albums for easy identification of contents.

While there is no right or wrong way to do it, staying consistent with abbreviations produces the best results. For example, if you spell out "VOLUME 1" or abbreviate it "VOL. 1" on one cover, it will look best to do the same on other covers that will be displayed together as a set. Do likewise if using Roman numerals as in "VOLUME I", "VOLUME II", "VOLUME III"...

The Lower Spine position is always imprinted in ALL UPPER CASE using our JOURNAL or "Library" font. Exceptions: For names such as McHENRY or DeVOS, a combination of upper and lower case characters can be used to impove readability if you wish.

Spines are imprinted in standardized positions to assure that imprints on all covers of the same size will align properly when displayed side by side as shown at right.
CAPITALIZATION SUGGESTIONS
We suggest the following capitalization rules for custom titles:

Upper Front, Lower Right, Lower Center, Upper Spine or Lower Back positions look best with "Title Case", i.e., Capitalize the First letter of Each Significant Word. Short words such as "the", "to", "for", can be capitalized but often look better when not, though this is quite subjective and there are exceptions, such as the first word of a title, e.g., "The Event of the Year". When in doubt, we suggest typing the title out both ways to see a side-by-side comparision.

ALL UPPER CASE is rarely recommended due to the fact that it is generally more difficult to read and requires more space however, there are exceptions for certain needs, e.g., ROBIN HOOD, STAR WARS, etc.

Title Case Examples:

Vacation Memories 2006

Frank and Linda
August 12, 2000

The Event of the Century (only significant words capitalized)

The Event Of The Century (all words capitalized)

Moments in Time (only significant words capitalized)

Moments In Time (all words capitalized)

PUNCTUATION AND ABBREVIATION TIPS & SUGGESTIONS
Punctuation generally suggests a more casual theme but can work well for certain needs such as

"Frank & Linda" instead of "Frank and Linda"
